| PREVENTATIVE MEDICINE |

A yearly examination and annual boosters
improve your cat's overall health and
promote longevity. Early detection of disease
usually results in more successful treatment
and is less costly for the owner. Cats tend to
hide early disease symptoms, so by the time
the owner notices something is wrong it could
be very ill. |

Even indoor cats need to be protected against
diseases such as Feline Rhinotracheitis, Calici
Virus, Chlamydia, and Distemper for which
effective vaccines are available. Most diseases
can be transmitted indirectly from owners'
clothing, shoes and other sources. At the time
of your first visit, we will discuss your cat's
possible need for feline leukemia testing and
vaccination. Yearly vaccination for rabies is
required by law. The importance of annual
boosters cannot be overstated. The cat's
immune system needs to be stimulated to
produce antibodies so it can resist infection. |

A yearly cleaning prevents disease and
discomfort. Unhealthy teeth and gums provide
a place for bacteria to enter the bloodstream
that can cause heart, liver, or kidney
problems. |
